Many members, yet one body
Got your answer already? My initial instinct was to think of the smallest, seemingly useless parts. (appendix not counted) For instance, losing one ear (still can hear with the other one) or my pinkie finger or sth. What was your answer?
Anyways if we relate this to real life, (and here’s my next question) lets say in a church, who is of least importance? Who can be, for lack of a better word, “dispensable”? My initial instinct this time was to think of who is most important.. who must be there such that the church can continue to function? I immediately thought “ah, must be the pastor/preacher.. because without this ‘channel’ to deliver God’s message, the whole point is missed.”
Was i right? I dunno.. I dun have all the answers, but now i dun think i was right. This was a topic of discussion during our recent small group meeting. Based on 1 Corinthians 12, it suggests that all members of the body of Christ are all important and serve their respective functions. I do agree, without the cleaners, the ushers, the technicians, the admin staff etc.. church just wouldn’t be the same. Rubbish would pile up, visitors would possibly feel lost or less welcome, microphones wouldn’t be maintained, and sermon notes/service orders wouldn’t be prepared. These are just some examples.. the list goes on i’m sure. Everyone has their own part to play in furthering God’s kingdom, there’s no need for judging, comparison or what-nots. We are all answerable to Him alone. What’s small in the eyes of the world might be of more value to Him than you think. Best to ask Him yourself heh.
Went for a run just now and felt pretty good. I’m not gonna make the same mistake of taking on 42km without training again haha. Someone better keep her promise to run this yr too!
Today i had some internal wakeup calls.. (and no, not those that drag u out of bed early in the morning).. its time for some changes.. wrong.. its time for some improvements. Wake up your damn idea robin. Its time to transform my thinking, and let Him transform my life.
Physio Schisms
“If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the smelling?”
Would you agree that we need the different parts of our bodies to fulfill different functions? Eyes to see, ears to hear, nose to smell correct? Do you feel that all members of your body are equally important? Lets put it this way, if you had no choice but to lose one part of your body, what would you choose? Which organ or part would you consider to be least valuable?
Think about it.. and i’ll be back with another question soon..
A bucketful of wisdom
haven been updating recently… too many activities going on. Work is the main reason i guess. Other things like graduation night dinner, commencement ceremony, a wedding etc. I’ve been fairly busy, but happy =) Life is good i can’t complain or ask for more.
Truly all my prayers have been answered in one way or another.. He is indeed faithful. I must strive to continue placing my trust in Him always, and grow in faith and wisdom.
Speaking of wisdom… ^%#$#&^$@ my darn wisdom teeth!!!! Just had the upper one extracted, and can expect to undergo surgery to extract the lower one which is entrenched deep in my gum recesses impacted against my molars. It is causing considerable agony for the time being.. feel like someone is smashing my lower row of teeth together with a hammer and jolting periodic electric shocks into my gums. But the pain is nothing compared to the pain of seeing the bill. damn ex can!!!?????!!!!????
anyways maybe running the marathon this yr can make up for all this $$. i will conquer SIM’s Challenge lol. and i will conquer the lower wisdom tooth! BRING IT ON SUCKER
Because the power is not mine
Have not been getting enough respite
Today seems very much a success, at least IMO
More to come on the morrow
I must sustain the faith
Faith is meant to be present-tense
Faith is not meant to hide forgotten in the deep recesses of the past
History will not repeat itself
Because He will take your scars and turn them into glorious stars
Life is about the choices we make
And today I choose to smile
