Whirlwind Weekend
In sch now having project meeting. Waiting for some compilation to be done so have a few mins spare time now. Its been a crazy weekend for me..
crazy, but happy. All I can say is God is good. He provides and he works in ways that we cannot understand. Sustaining faith i will have.. even when the chips are all down. For instance I was running a slight fever yesterday.. and it looked like it was gonna rain.. and my toes weren’t in the best condition (some of my toenails dropped off due to internal bleeding from too much soccer/basketball) but i still went ahead and took my ippt test. In the end, I felt good, i did what i had to, and i emerged $200 richer courtesy of the SAF. All because i never lost faith. No big deal la, but its the small things that add up =)
Today i received news of the arrival of baby Ethan into this world. Congrats to Melvin and Florence! I’m sure they’ll be fantastic parents who would raise him to be a God-fearing man of significance. Can’t wait to go visit! I’d try post some photos up if i can get some.
Ok need to get back to project now… and my mind’s still in a whirl. Have a great weekend everyone!
Step Up 2
wah gosh… i find it more awesome than step up 1. Both are pretty inspiring in their own ways, but step up 2 really stepped up to the challenge (pun totally intended) and i feel they did a great job. The dances were so well choreographed! Check out the final scene below.. did i mention that the female lead looks super hot in the rain?
My fav part is the ‘heart beat’ thang from 4.16-4.19… so beautiful
Step Up
ok i know i’m slow.. but i only just watched step up.. and i think the last scene was pretty darn neat. Esp 2.06-2.25. i like how they fused the elements of different dances.. like ballet, hip hop, b-boy etc
next up for me, step up 2 hehe.
STUFFED.I.am.
I don’t think I have ever eaten so much in one day. 21 Mar 09. Wesley Methodist Church Makan Rally 2009. Kindly organised by the Family Life Ministry (thanks guys!)
A day of fun and bonding with family and friends. The five of us piled into E’s car and drove round SG in search of checkpoints and famous food. (well mostly in the east la). Casuarina prata, Buono Squid Ink Risotto, Changi Village Nasi Lemak and Bak Chor Mee, Bedok Chendol and Cheng Tng, Katong Laksa, Killiney Kaya Toast and Curry Chicken etc..
Wah i tell u, no joke sia. The food was fantastic. So was the company. But it was tough training for my stomach hahaha. The squid-ink risotto was very interestin indeed. Left all our lips and teeth blackened at the end haha. The taste was quite good though, albeit the slightly strange aftertaste it leaves in yur mouth. Buono is a great discovery, a quaint little place nestled within sgn gdns. Nice ambience (well, we were their very first customers) and great food. If u go there ask for somethin thats not on their menu, a special salad with mozarella cheese, rocket leaves, tomatoes, parma ham and drizzled with olive oil. Splendid starter!
A salute to my fellow foodies whom braved thru sun and rain, and thanks be to God for blessing us with a safe day of food, fun, fellowship and discovery. Ok time to get down to my pending project works already!

Singapore is a small place. Real small. Met up with a church friend recently whom is getting married this year. Then I realised the surname of his fiance looked very very familiar (coz its quite unique). Then it hit me, vaguely recalled my jc classmate (with the same unique surname) mentioning early this year that his sis was gettin married this year too. Wow. Thats just one instance. I believe there are so many other incidents to prove how small our little isle is. Do share them if u have any!
I played Beer pong over the weekend! quite a fun game! Fortunately (or unfortunately) I only drank diet coke coz i drove.. so i guess its more like coke pong. anyhow, nobody lost to the birthday boy so he ended up drinkin all the booze wahahah. Not that his aim sucked, it just was meant to be lol.
My friend has also invited me to be emcee for his performance at VCH. Whoaa. I’m really honoured that he even considered me in the first place. I’m fine with stepping up to the challenge, but told him to make me the last-case scenario if they really cant find anyone from within.
Anyhow, emcee or no emcee, do support my friend’s performance! Must help him advertise hehe!

I’m sorry for the thing i’ve made it, when it’s all about You
One of my favourite songs.
Heart of Worship
When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that’s of worth
That will bless Your heart
I’ll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart
I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You
It’s all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You
It’s all about You, Jesus
King of endless worth
No one could express
How much You deserve
Though I’m weak and poor
All I have is Yours
Every single breath
Faith vs Reason
Imagine one day u reached home, only to see your house blackened from fire and all your possessions obliterated. Dismayed, you take out your handphone to phone someone, only to carelessly drop it on the floor and watch it smash into bits. Just as you bend down to retrieve the remains, a crack of lightning destroys a tree nearby, causing it to crash down upon your new BMW. When u think that things can’t get any worse, a friend runs up to you and tells you that something bad has happened to your family. In a short span of time, you have lost virtually everything that is important to you… what do you then do?
I know a man who experienced this.. and his name was Job. Granted that he didn’t have a BMW (He lived thousands of years ago in the BC era, where they probably rode donkeys/horses instead), but he did lose everything he had, which was waaaaaay more than what i described if in a modern-day equivalent. (he was described as the greatest of all the people of the East)
So what did Job do? He tore off his clothes, shaved his head and fell to the ground and PRAISED God.. saying “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Like wow.. how many people can actually do that?? It takes a huge amount of faith not to blame God when undesirable events take place, or when we lose everything that matters to us.
To cut a long story short, Job subsequently tried to reason out the things that had befallen him, and in the process got condemned by 3 of his friends who believed that he must have done something wrong that he never admitted to, as they believed that God rewards righteousness with good things, and bad things only befall the unrighteous. Job maintained his innocence (he truly was upright and blameless), and attempted to question why such misfortune had befallen him. In this process, all of them were chastened by God for their flawed thinking – The 3 friends for their ignorance and lack of understanding in condeming Job, and Job for trying to comprehend something beyond his ability to.
We studied this during small group today, and it really got me thinking. Apparently, this book has also got many scholars/philosophers etc thinking and debating for a long while. Sometimes certain things just cannot be reasoned, coz it is just waaaay out of our scope to comprehend the big picture. What we need is faith like Job, coz despite tryin to reason out, he never lost faith in God, never doubted God’s will, never blamed/cursed God. In the end, he was blessed with much more than he originally had.
Instead of always tryin to control, let’s never forget who is in control
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this =)
P.S in case anyone gets the wrong idea, it was not God who took away everything from Job, but Satan. God allowed Satan to do so in order to test Job’s faith. I have many unanswered questions of my own, but i believe slowly I will come to discover them. It’s not for me to comprehend everything at this point in time heh.
